The IGCP board recommended that the IGCP 512 leaders strongly consider producing a summary publication representing the largest possible concensus on the Neoproterozoic glaciations emerging from this project. The participants present at the meeting in Abersystwyth agreed and decided the most useful and lasting contribution of this project would be a book akin to a modern version of Hambrey and Harland's (1983) Earth's Pre-Pleistocene Glacial Record. It is envisioned that this book will include a series of multi-authored discussion articles, followed by reviews of key Neoproterozoic successions. The review articles/chapters and will adhere to a standardized template to maximize objectivity and consistency throughout the volume. The following subjects will be addressed in each article (chapter):

  1. Sedimentology (glacial, glaciogenic and associated strata) including strat. log
  2. Depositional environment
  3. Palaeomagnetic data
  4. Geochronological constraints
  5. Biostratigraphy
  6. Isotope stratigraphy
  7. Tectonics / regional setting

The deadline for the completion of a first round of template chapters was January 31, 2007.
