2005 IGCP 512 held its inaugural meeting on August 27, 2005 in Aberystwyth, Wales, during the IAS conference on Glacial Products and Processes. Among the topics discussed were project leadership, priorities and deliverables of the project, criteria for recognizing glacial deposits (based on a draft paper by N. Chumakov), and age data for the Neoproterozoic glacials, stimulated by a draft paper by B. MacGabhann. The meeting members agreed on Graham Shields and Emmanuelle Arnaud as the project co-leaders, due to their principal role in developing the project. The main deliverables of the project are to be a website and, as per the recommendation of the IGCP board, a summary book on the Neoproterozoic glacials. The members present at the meeting agreed that a book akin to an updated version of Hambrey & Harland's (1983) Earth's Pre-Pleistocene Glacial Record would be most appropriate. 2008 The next IGCP 512 meeting will be held in conjuction with the Geology and Hydrocarbon Potential of Neoproterozoic-Cambrian Basins in India, Pakistan and the Middle East conference in Jammu, India, 20-21 February, 2008. IGCP 512 will convene for two days of business meetings, in conjunction with two IGCP 512-sponsored sessions at the 33rd International Geological Congress, Oslo Norway, August, 2007.
